The Continuing Education programs of AGPA offer participants from diverse clinical disciplines the opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills in group psychotherapy and related fields.  AGPA CE programs offer:

  • development of new clinical approaches,

  • refinement of therapeutic methods,

  • exchange of clinical and empirical knowledge with colleagues,

  • exposure to current research and theory, and

  • the opportunity to participate in a multidisciplinary peer support network.

Annual Meeting

The AGPA Annual Meeting is the hallmark educational event in the field of group psychotherapy.  The theme for the 2014 Annual Meeting is "Group: Creating Connection in Turbulent Times."  The meeting will be held March 3-8, 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts.  Continuing education credits are available for physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, counselors, alcohol and drug abuse counselors, and marriage and family therapists. E-Learning: Synchronous and Asynchronous

In addition to the variety of in-person meetings, AGPA provides continuing education offerings through our eLearning platform. Visit our Store/CE Center to view these programs--provided as "live"--synchronous and "self-study"--asynchronous trainings. Applicable continuing education accreditations are listed with their programs.

Training Curricula

Developed by AGPA in cooperation with the International Board for the Certification of Group Psychotherapists, there are several training curricula available for group therapists. These curricula are valuable resources for the senior clinician as well as the new professional or student.

As a leading authority in group psychotherapy, AGPA offers customized consultation and training for agencies and institutions. These programs are designed to provide in-depth information pertaining to group psychotherapy and related areas.

Call for Proposals

AGPA invites you to share your knowledge and expertise by submitting your ideas for our continuing education programs. Distance Learning program proposals are accepted year-round. Annual Meeting proposals are typically accepted beginning in January with a deadline of late April. Submit your proposal using our online submission system.
