Fathers
and Daughters: The Promise of Intimacy
Chair:
Shelley J.
Korshak, M.D., CGP, Instructor, Department of Psychiatry,
University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois
The
father-daughter relationship has significant impact on the daughter,
and on her ability to create an intimate relationship for herself
when she becomes an adult. This workshop presents a model for
understanding the father-daughter relationship, and uses a process
group experience to explore how to help the daughter complete her
psychological development when their relationship has gone awry.
