How to
Design, Market, Organize, and Lead a Psychoeducational Group

Psychoeducational groups offer many unique benefits. They provide
information about the presenting problem; a brief, non-threatening
introduction to the experience of group therapy; and a launching pad
for deeper work. This workshop covers all aspects of adding this
format to the group therapist’s repertoire.

Objectives:
The attendee will
be able to:
1.
Identify benefits
of psychoeducational group therapy for learning and therapeutic
needs.
2. Utilize
workshop ideas, techniques, and demonstration as a model for
designing one’s own psycho-educational group.
3. Organize,
market, interview, and select members in a way that leads to
viability of the group.
4. Conduct the
group in a way that achieves the goals of the group.
