Innovative Group Treatment Applications of Interpersonal Neurobiology to Sustain Relationships in the New Decade

This workshop will discuss and demonstrate an innovative relationship treatment paradigm integrating interpersonal neurobiology with group therapy. This relationship-focused group treatment (RGT), a separate group therapy for each partner, uses an intersubjective approach combined with Imago relationship techniques and is designed to sustain and nourish relationships.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Cite two ways that psychoneurological dysregulation affects relationships.

2. Specify two curative factors of relationship-focused group therapy that ameliorate early attachment wounds.

3. Describe two ways that the group therapist can constructively address projective gridlocks in the group.
