Group Process in the NOW

Open to participants with less than four years of group psychotherapy experience

 

Workshop participants will learn a variety of techniques from Gestalt Therapy, Psychodrama and Encounter, which will help them build skills of direct communication. The guidelines, such as "remaining in the here and now", which will promote intense and immediate group experience, can be applied to their psychotherapy groups.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1.Identify stages of group development and learn to use appropriate interventions at each stage.

2.Utilize confrontation in group therapy without encouraging scapegoating behavior.

3.Practice using therapist transparency in a group setting.

4.Utilize techniques for enhancing self-awareness and honest communication in groups.

5.Deepen the level of therapeutic work in a safe and responsible manner.
