After a brief
introductory talk on Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), participants
will observe two live demonstration groups, one using a
system-centered model and the other using a mindfulness model. We
will discuss how the two group leaders are similar and different in
their approach to mobilizing resources and addressing underdeveloped
and/or overlooked capacities in the group and its members.
Learning
Objectives:
The attendee will be able to:
1. Review key
aspects of IPNB that support the use of group therapy.
2. Compare and contrast different approaches to group therapy (i.e.,
systems-centered and mindfulness).
3. Develop greater appreciation for unfamiliar approaches to group
therapy.
