Treating
High-Risk Adolescents: The Trainees Experience

This session
will focus on the student therapist learning in conducting groups
with high-risk adolescents who are in closed setting probation
schools. We will summarize the context, and the student therapist
will present fresh clinical material for supervision. The focus
will be on the student therapist's educational experience, learning
to work with this population within a complex educational
environment.

The attendee will
be able to:
1. evaluate the
system in which the treatment takes place.
2. Describe the
learning tasks of the student/trainee in conducting groups with this
population
3. Describe
potential countertransferences in working with this population, both
for supervisor and trainee.
