The IBCGP website
defines quality for therapeutic groups by clearly outlining the
characteristics of successful groups, providing resources and
information to help run (or choose) a group and explaining the
importance of earning the CGP designation.
The website accomplishes this mission by:

Promoting the standards of group
practice, education and professional accountability;

characteristics between trained and untrained professionals who
lead therapeutic groups;

Offering to the public a
searchable database of CGPs according to locale so that website
visitors can choose a CGP near them;

Offering clinicians a searchable
database of CGP supervisor/consultants by locale for those
seeking to meet the certification standards for the practice of
group psychotherapy; and

Providing multimedia testimonials
from professionals who have earned the CGP and realized direct
benefits of that choice (career advancement, practice growth,
etc.).
